Is the Online Banking login on the Sooper Credit Union homepage secure?

Yes. At Sooper Credit Union, we are committed to safeguarding your personal information online to keep it secure and confidential.

What about the security alert box my browser displays?

Many Netscape and Internet Explorer browsers will alert you when going from non-secure to secure web pages. If this is enabled in your browser, you will receive the alert when logging into Online Banking. To enable this feature:

Internet Explorer

  • From the menu bar, select "Tools" then "Internet Options".
  • Select the "Advanced" tab.
  • Scroll down to "Security" and select the radio button "Warn if changing between secure and non-secure mode."
  • Select "Apply" then "Ok."


  • Click the "pad lock" icon in the lower left-hand section of your browser window.
  • Select "Navigator" from the left menu list.
  • Select the warnings that you wish to appear.
  • Select "Ok."

More technical information for those who want to know details: When you login to Online Banking from the Sooper Credit Union home page, your account number and password are sent over the internet from your computer to the Online Banking server using Secure Socket Layer (SSL) technology. SSL encrypts your personal information before it leaves your computer, ensuring that no one else can read it.

Once you have signed in, you can check that your Online Banking session is secure in two ways:

  • Look for the small padlock icon usually located in the lower right corner of your web browser window. A closed (locked) padlock indicates a secure connection.
  • Look for the letters "https://" at the beginning of the website address or URL in your web browser. The "s" in "https", means secure.
