Use Apple Pay with your compatible device to pay in stores without swiping your debit or credit card. You can also make secure in-app purchases and subscriptions without entering your sensitive financial information. Pay with a single touch of your finger using Touch ID.
With Apple Pay, when you add your Sooper Credit Union card to your Wallet, a unique Device Account Number is assigned, encrypted, and securely stored. When you make a purchase, the Device Account Number alongside a transaction-specific dynamic security code is used to process your payment. Your actual credit or debit card numbers are never shared by Apple with merchants or transmitted with your payment data.
Apple Pay makes purchase transactions safe and secure by ensuring cashiers and others never see your name, card number, or security code. The Device Account Number can’t be decrypted by Apple but is stored in the Secure Element — an industry-standard, certified chip designed to store your payment information safely — on your device. Unlike customary use of credit or debit card numbers, the card issuer can prevent its use on a magnetic stripe card, over the phone, or on websites. The Device Account Number in the Secure Element is isolated from iOS, watchOS, and macOS, is never stored on Apple servers, and is never backed up to iCloud.
As a safety and fraud prevention precaution, Apple may require members to call Sooper Credit Union to have the card approved for Apple Pay usage. You can also request approval for Apple Pay after your card has been added to your Wallet with a secure message sent from within your Online or Mobile Banking account or by contacting Member Care via Chat or by calling (303) 427-5005 or (888) SOOPER1.
